Trade shows. Site visits. A call from someone who trusts you. That is an agribusiness sales funnel, and a real one. It works, which is exactly why most companies never look at it closely. When the show ends, the stand comes down, the business cards go into a bag, and the follow-up depends on who has time the following week.

What we keep seeing

A physical funnel has a short season. It only runs while people are in the room. We often see good first meetings fade because there was no second one, and warm leads cool down simply because nothing happened between the event and the next one, twelve months later. At the same time, we also hear "digital doesn't work in our industry." We think that is half right. Digital that replaces relationships doesn't. Digital that extends them does.

What is at risk

Every lead that goes quiet after a show is a cost you already paid for: the stand, the travel, the samples, the team's week. If the conversation can't continue afterwards, a large part of that investment is gone by the time everyone is back at their desks.

There is also a risk in staying invisible between meetings. Buyers research on their own long before and after they talk to you. If there is nothing helpful for them to find, or nobody following up, someone else's story will fill that silence.

And if nothing changes?

The business stays exactly as scalable as the number of hands you can send to the number of events you can attend. That is a ceiling, and it gets lower as the people who hold the relationships get busier or retire. Competitors who stay present all year, even in small ways, slowly become the familiar name.

What we think you should do

Think of a greenhouse. It doesn't replace the field, it lengthens the season. Start small.

  • Map how a customer actually reaches you today, step by step, from first contact to first order.
  • Add one digital touch after each physical one: a follow-up page, a short email series, content that answers the questions people asked on the stand.
  • Keep a human handoff at every important step. The goal is to be present more often, not to disappear behind a screen.

Pick one event or one product and let the results show you where to plant next. Hybrid is what works.

Let’s talk about your next season.
